Natural Feeding

After Gena suffered a gastric torsion at the age of 18 months, we made a major decision in how we fed our dogs. To date, that’s probably been the best decision we made regarding the dogs welfare!

We made the decision to use natural feeding, the combination of a cereal meal in the morning and a raw meat meal in the evening.

We were very lucky to have the advice of a very good friend available to us. Val had been treating dogs herbally and homoeopathically for some time and along with these treatments offered advice on natural rearing.

PLEASE NOTE - Each dog breed would have its own guidelines but for our Weimie friends this is a typical weekly menu.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

AM:-               2-3ozs Natroflakes – a mixture of Oats/Barley/Maize with added dried vegetables and herbs. (see Remedies page for details)

PM:-               Minced Raw Chicken Wings (weight depending on size/requirements of dog)

Offal – Chicken Liver or Lamb’s Heart

                        Bran

                        Wheatgerm

Some supplements depending on dog’s needs –e.g. Raspberry Leaf, Seaweed Powder, Vit E, Cod Liver Oil.
